Often the only thing standing between an abandoned shelter animal and a loving family is medical care
In 2019, a group of like-minded Augusta County, Virginia residents joined forces to help the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center municipal shelter ensure animals were adoption-ready.
The municipal budget covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, limited onsite veterinary assessments, and extreme emergency care. Animals requiring other medical care such as tumor removal, cancer, heart worm, or skin treatments were at high risk.
FOSVASC has provided medical funding to over 500 shelter and community animals with medical challenges and successfully expanded to include a community pet food pantry and other pet-retention services.
All pets deserve a healthy and happy life!
